You can’t change judges. Even if you think this one hates you, unless you have some reason that the judge is biased such as he is a family member of the other side, you can’t change.

If you leave the marital home you have not subjected yourself to an “abandonment” argument that you no longer have a financial interest in it. You MAY be subjected to paying some bills there in your absence, that is fact specific. It also may affect custody. Speak to an attorney before making a decision.

The judge does not care that you aren’t making what you made last year because you voluntarily have given up overtime that was always available to you and that you’ve maximized historically. Your income is based on history not current conditions only unless there is a legally recognizable change of circumstances, such as disability.

Parental alienation as a syndrome may be a real thing but it is not necessarily a thing that New Jersey judges are going to pay a lot of attention to in making rulings.

Child support guidelines calculators online are imprecise and do not take into consideration all the factors that the full and expensive guidelines software that the courts and lawyers use do.

Judges almost never issue sanctions in family court, particularly in South Jersey, no matter how badly your ex may be violating orders.

These and many more myths can be easily busted by consulting with and hiring a good attorney with experience who you are willing to listen to over Google.  Call for a free consult 856-227-7888!
