Singing the Traffic Ticket Blues

Singing the Traffic Ticket Blues

We’ve all been there. Well, most of us have. No, I’m not talking about the dentist. I’m talking about municipal traffic court. That feeling of glancing in your rear view mirror and finding those all too familiar blue and red lights flashing behind you, inching ever closer. None of us enjoy that experience. What’s often worse, however, is what occurs once those blue and red lights stop flashing. You’ve been issued a ticket and a summons to appear in court. What now? There’s a way to make what comes next less frightening and FAR less consequential.

You don’t have to tackle this by yourself. If you go to traffic court on your own, without a lawyer, you’ll find that you’re one in a sea of similar offenders, with little, if any, leverage at all. You may be lucky enough to be afforded a brief meeting with the local prosecutor, but what sort of bargaining chip will you hold? Will you be able to negotiate down your sentence in exchange for a plea bargain? Is that a chance you want to take? Save the gambling for lower stakes.

Let us put our experience and negotiation skills to work for you. We know the nuts and bolts of the municipal court system, and we’ll inform you of the many possible outcomes that might occur. We’ll also tell you what the chances are of negotiating your charge down via a plea agreement, and what your particular charge is typically pled down to. A deal with the local prosecutor could mean the difference between catastrophic fees, points on your license, rising insurance premiums, community service, license suspension, license revocation, and even jail time. That’s why hiring an attorney to advocate on your behalf is the most prudent investment you can make in your traffic court matter. You deserve as much leverage as possible, and it’s our business, as well as our passion, to give you that leverage.

Sometimes, knowing what to expect is half the battle. Increased clarity about the procedure and decreased ambiguity about the consequences can make the process far less distressing. We have locations in Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties, and are happy to discuss your legal options. For a free consultation please call (856) 227-7888 or email [email protected].
